Why remove lead?
Lead can be a dangerous material if handled improperly or exposed often. Children are very susceptible to lead poisoning because of tendencies to put objects in their mouth and being close the the floor where lead dust can settle. Lead poisoning can cause many health problems and is irreversible. The best practice is to remove it completely from your everyday environment.
Remove it!
Acadia has experience in remediation many lead products, whether it be for a remodel or just piece of mind for safety. Flaking or chipping paint can be a sign that it contains lead. Acadia safely remediates it either by whole component removal or in some cases sandblasting. We steer away from chemicals that can leave behind residues, which can leave some lead behind and cause issues with resurfacing after.
